Pregnant Woman Dies, Two Critical in Dallas Officer-Involved Crash

A tragic car accident early Saturday morning on Interstate 30 and 2nd Avenue in Dallas has resulted in the death of a pregnant woman and left two others critically injured. The collision involved an off-duty Dallas Police officer driving a Jeep Wrangler, who struck a Chevy Malibu that had stalled in the center lane of the road.

Responding to the major accident, Dallas County Sheriff's deputies discovered the critically injured occupants of the Malibu, including the expectant mother. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the pregnant woman was declared dead on arrival. Her baby, delivered posthumously, is currently in critical condition. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed.

The off-duty officer, who was alone in the Jeep, underwent a medical evaluation and has since been released from the hospital. The accident led to temporary traffic closures, which were lifted around 6 a.m.

Investigations into the cause and circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
